Cycle of Hope - A Poem

Cycle of Hope, a poem by Abasiama Akpan

The sun rises and sets everyday,

An unbroken cycle of hope,

An awakening of expectations,

A new dawn of a whispered fate.

For many, this hope is real,

But for some it's just another drill,

It isn't about how they feel,

Experience is the real deal.

Success or failure brings expectation,

This greatly shapes our reflection,

For the winner, everyday brings joy,

The loser anticipates sorrow and toil.

See, experience shapes our faith,

It's not all about being sturdy or frail,

Even the strongest can become weary,

And the weak can receive strength.

Every sunrise should bring new hope,

Even the sunset doesn't end it all,

The night sky having many stars,

Is a symbol of light in the dusk.

When your day turns blurry,

And your sun suddenly faces the west,

Don't think it's the end,

The Sun can decide to set, but it will surely rise again.
